The other day a friend asked me “what are you?” “What do you mean” I replied. Y’know.. Democrat or Republican. I had to give that some serious thought. The economy under President Clinton…a Democrat… was pretty good, but I also liked President Bush’s response to 9-11 and how the country was safe for eight years. I could find plenty of faults with both presidents. So…after giving it some thought (for the first time in quite a while) my reply was “I am an “American” and will support anyone, regardless of political party, who shares my belief in my country and my right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.
That brings me to this BLOG. We will open this site to opinion on both sides of important issues so that we can all be better informed and make good decisions. The BLOG will present a topic and then pose a question. Begin your response with AGREE or DISAGREE and then post your comments. Grab a cup of your favorite Mulberry Teahouse tea and let us know what you think.
The question this week pertains to healthcare. The position is that major healthcare changes are necessary so that everyone will have access to medical coverage. Insurance is a right for all Americans. Further, controlling out of control healthcare costs will help us reduce our national debt.
Do we need a public option for health care?
